In Memory of Joseph R. Misiuda July 20, 1954 – June 23, 2015
President Joe lost his life as a result of severe injuries sustained in a bicycling accident, on June 23, 2015. Joe was the President of Victory Music from 2012 – 2015, after having joined the Victory Music Board of Directors in 2005. Joe was passionate about music, and about Victory Music as an incubator, meeting place and safe space for musicians new and experienced to try new material. Joe worked tirelessly to keep Victory moving ahead, growing and being run as a strong non-profit should; thanks to Joe’s steady hand, Victory Music is now in better financial condition than when he assumed the role of President, and new programs have been introduced.
Joe was born in Pennsylvania but moved with his parents and two older sisters to the Northwest in 1957. After graduating from high school, he lived in Hawaii for a few years before returning to Snohomish county where he became a financial advisor. Joe was intelligent, quirky, hard-working, insightful, thoughtful, humorous, generous, a wonderful listener and friend. He is survived by his son Kevin Misiuda, daughter Nicole Terhune and grandson Ewan Terhune, two sisters and a wide circle of friends. The members and Board of Directors mourn Joe’s passing and are committed to continuing his vision of a vibrant Victory Music organization.
